  • Our Story

    How it started

Our history can be traced around the world. Our journey has been from the favelas of Brazil, to the back alleys of Hong Kong, the streets of Manila, and the country sides of China, India and the Rockies and Appalachian Mountains. Having been raised originally in Long Beach and Compton never could I as a young child expect how my life would be touched by the world of Art, Fashion, Music, Sports. I grew up with friends who became Hall of Fame players in the NFL or NBA and Music icons. While in college I took a Humanities class, there I learned of Music, Art, Architecture, and later when I had the opportunity I travelled to Paris where the dream I had of seeing what I had studied became my reality. It just happened to parallel a historic event in Berlin of watching the wall come down. It was there I was transfigured. Later trying to find artisans to craft the products I was designing. I met a women named Patricia Vieria a renowned leather designer in rio de janeiro it was during this meeting that she mentioned to me how Carioca she claimed I seemed more Portuguese than most people from Brazil. Having little knowledge of what it meant I only knew I was drawn to the people I met on my journey. It would be years later that I would come to understand my life’s journey. While taking a DNA test and studying my families origins. I would discover I was a part of many countries around the world. Jewish, Irish, English, Scottish, Portuguese, Indian, African and it was then as I learned of my families origins in the early years of the formulation of the Appalachian mountains coming from Barbados. And historic figurers from Scotland and Ireland in the world of music which influenced musicians around the world. Today our family is as eclectic and diverse as our history thus driving our desire to share culture, community, music, language and philosophy. We are driven by charity and inclusion. Known by some as Stick people for protecting the life’s of our brothers many from the Cherokee tribe who were driven to the trails of tears. Our brands and our design represent our struggles and our origins but mostly they represent Hope and Faith in the greater good that comes from working hard and using our God talents to inspire those we touch. We hope you will join us as we seek to influence our communities and to build charity in the world we live.
